In Naga-machi Buke Yashiki District, you can see “Komokake”.
“Komokake” is a cover to protect earthen walls from the snow. We can see “Komokake” from December to March in the year and it’s a winter tradition of Kanazawa.
During the Edo period, the middle-class samurai of the Kanazawa Domain resided here. The narrow alleys, earthen walls, and Nagaya-mon gate all retain the appearance of ancient times.
You can visit Kanazawa by Shinkansen (bullet train) from Tokyo within three hours.
Also, you can stop by Nagano on the way to Kanazawa. We would like to guide you to Nagano as well as Kanazawa.
